Kindness. Candour. Integrity. Joy.
Champion Fundraising is built on decades of working in charities and listening to fundraisers and supporters. I learned that we have a far greater chance of success when we have a cheerleader, a champion to support, guide, celebrate and course-correct. And that's what I want Champion Fundraising to be for you. My goal is to leave you feeling clear-eyed, empowered and encouraged to grow.
Davinia Batley
Before founding Champion Fundraising, I was fundraising director and leader for several smaller national charities. I have also held interim CEO roles for a number of organisations. I love working with smaller charities and have spent over 25 years fundraising for a wide variety of causes including children & young people, physical and mental health, homelessness, international development and heritage. I know firsthand the challenges and rewards of working in smaller charities. I understand that ambition can outstrip resources (especially time!). Yet it’s an immense privilege to play a part in a charity’s impact and to feel the difference made with every donation. Over the years, I’ve steered strategies, produced proposals, ignited individuals, crafted campaigns, cheered challengers, moved major donors, designed digital approaches and cared for communities. I’m excited to share what I have learned to help you and your charity become champion fundraisers.
My approach

People who are lost often end up walking in circles. Agreeing a destination is super important, but we still need to know how to get there, lest we lose our way. That's what I care about with fundraising; marrying strategic ambition with delivery reality. Or as I like to call it, 'fundraising readiness'.
That's why I work you with to understand your specific circumstance and needs. Listening and alignment steps helps to ensure that you can clearly see your charity in my work.
I'm values-led and am interested in the intersection between equity and charity - where it exists and where it doesn't. And I'm committed to taking and learning intersectional approaches and working with inclusive organisations.
Davinia’s strategic acumen, and exceptional fundraising knowledge set her apart in the field. As a thoughtful inclusive, and effective leader, she provides insightful and measured approaches that significantly contribute to success. Collaborating with Davinia is a joy thanks to her commitment to excellence and ways of working.
