FAQs
The Fractional Fundraising Leader subscription can be readily cancelled and you’re not adding anyone to payroll. Essentially fractional support means you have access to Director/CEO experience to address key strategic needs at a fraction of the cost. Benefits to the bottom line go beyond payroll: you don’t need to supply laptops, phones, or allocate desk space. And, because you’re working with Champion Fundraising on an ongoing basis, you don’t need to reset and contextualise all the time.
The commitment depends on the subscription tier you choose, reflecting the breadth and depth of work required:
Fractional Fundraising Leader subscription tier | Cost | Monthly hours | Minimum subscription period | Cancellation notice |
Pay as you go | £160ph | n/a | n/a | n/a |
Foundation | £145pm | 1 hour | n/a | 30 days |
Momentum | £400pm | 3 hours | 2 months | 30 days |
Advance | £1,000pm | 10 hours | 3 months | 60 days |
Elevate | £1,800pm | 20 hours | 3 months | 60 days |
Following the minimum period, subscriptions will continue on a rolling basis unless amended or cancelled by the client or Champion Fundraising. Unused hours will roll over for up to 3 months. The rollover period remains in effect even if you cancel.
Fundraising in smaller charities often means brilliant sole fundraisers, CEOs and other team members carry the weight of expectation income generation without specialist fundraising guidance. It can be overwhelming and it can be tough to know if you’re heading in the right direction. With Momentum and higher tiers, you can access 1:1 support which includes up min. 1 hour per month to work together to boost skills and confidence. But no, this isn’t line management. Line management sits best within the team though 1:1 support can work in concert with line management as part of learning and development plans.
If you’re looking for someone to undertake a clearly defined task, such as bid writing, then you’ll likely be better off working with a freelancer. There are many brilliant fundraising freelancers out there and they play an important role in the sector. There are also many fantastic consultants that offer specialist or strategic support. Broadly speaking, consultancy provides solutions to specific questions, opportunities or problems. Champion Fundraising provides consultancy support which Fractional Fundraising Leader subscribers can access at a discount. Fractional Fundraising support itself may be best thought of as longer term strategic leadership that keeps step with your charity.
Yes! And if you subscribe to Fractional Fundraising Leadership (Foundation tier up) you can access other Champion Fundraising services at a discounted rate. Get in touch to discuss your needs.
Absolutely. It’s very likely that there are bits you know need doing, bits you know need looking at and bits you can’t even think about right now. A big part of what a Fractional Fundraising Leader can do is to come in and both analyse and synthesise your fundraising in context with your organisation. A way forward will emerge from this work and that, in turn, will inform strategy and delivery plans.
Fractional Fundraising Leadership is designed with smaller charities in mind. But that’s not to say it will suit all charities.
